What we offer:

At our program, we are committed to raising healthy, well-rounded AKC Labrador Retrievers that are prepared to thrive in their new homes. Every step of our process is designed with both the dogs’ welfare and the families’ peace of mind in mind.

Health & Genetics – All of our parent dogs are health tested for life threatening congenital diseases common to Labradors before breeding. Puppies come from multi-generational hunting lines, ensuring both strong working ability and sound structure.

Early Development & Socialization – Our puppies are handled and socialized daily from birth. We believe in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) & Early Scent Introduction (ESI) for building Confident, Capable Labrador Retrievers From Day One . At Green Roof Farm Labradors, we believe that the first few weeks of life are foundational. Long before our puppies open their eyes, their neurological systems are rapidly developing. That is why every GRF litter participates in:

  •  Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)

  • Early Scent Introduction (ESI)

  • These structured programs support resilience, adaptability, and early scent development during a critical window of growth.

  • Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)    What Is ENS?

  • Early Neurological Stimulation is a series of gentle handling exercises performed between days 3–16 of life. This protocol was originally developed through military canine research and has been adopted by responsible breeders who prioritize neurological development. Each puppy is individually handled once daily in a calm, controlled environment.

  • The Five ENS Exercises:

  • Tactile stimulation (between the toes)

  • Head held upright

  •  Head pointed downward

  • Supine position (gently on back)

  •  Brief exposure to a cool surface                                                             Each exercise lasts only a few seconds and is performed safely and intentionally.

  • Potential Benefits of ENS

  •  Improved stress tolerance

  •  Increased cardiovascular performance

  • Stronger adrenal response

  •  Greater adaptability to new environments and Enhanced confidence                                       At GRF Labradors, ENS is never rushed. Our goal is to gently support development — not overwhelm it.

  • Early Scent Introduction (ESI)      What Is ESI?

  • Early Scent Introduction also takes place between days 3–16 of life. During this window, puppies are briefly introduced to one new scent per day. The scent is presented near the puppy’s nose for just a few seconds while we observe interest and engagement.

  • Types of Scents May Include:

  •  Game bird feathers

  •  Deer antler

  • Natural wood or pine

  •  Leather

  •  Novel environmental scents

  • As a breed developed for retrieving and scent work, Labrador Retrievers naturally benefit from this early exposure.

  • Potential Benefits of ESI

  •  Enhanced scent recognition ability

  •  Increased scent discrimination

  •  Stronger curiosity and engagement

  • Early problem-solving skills

  •  A solid foundation for hunting, sport, service, or companion roles                                                 The GRF Commitment:

  • ENS and ESI are just one part of our comprehensive puppy development program.

  • From birth to go-home day, each GRF puppy receives:

  • ✔ Daily handling

  • ✔ ENS protocol (Days 3–16)

  • ✔ ESI exposure (Days 3–16)

  • ✔ Structured socialization

  • ✔ Environmental enrichment

  • ✔ Individual attention

  • Our goal is to raise Labrador Retrievers who are not only beautiful and well-bred, but mentally sound, confident, and prepared to thrive in their new homes.                                              Early Training Foundations – We begin crate introduction and provide outdoor exposure (weather permitting and after their first vaccines). These early steps help puppies become more confident, desensitized, and prepared for a smooth transition into their new homes.        Veterinary Care – At 6 weeks of age, every puppy receives a full evaluation by a licensed veterinarian, including a physical exam to check for hernias, heart murmurs, and musculoskeletal health. Puppies also receive their first round of vaccinations, deworming, and health records.   Going Home – Puppies are ready for their new families at 8 weeks of age, leaving with a complete veterinary record and a goodie bag to help with the transition.               Health Guarantee – We stand behind our puppies with a 24-month health guarantee contract, giving families confidence in their puppy’s health and future.

Our goal is to provide each family with a Labrador Retriever that is healthy, confident, and well-prepared for life as a beloved companion, working partner, or service dog
